Abstract

How do we ensure that our science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses are culturally inclusive? Why have issues with minority participation in STEM not been resolved? Unfortunately, even with our best intentions, our implicit biases impact what we teach and learn. I will share the interplay between culture and in learning STEM, and highlight key reports that inform best practices on how to broaden participation.
