Bio: Valencia Perry, Ph.D, CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Cathy Hughes School of Communications at Howard University. She is a bilingual (Spanish/English) speech-language pathologist, who primarily serves children and families from diverse cultural-linguistic backgrounds. Her expertise is in language and literacy disorders. Her research at Howard University investigates the influence of African-American English and/or Spanish on the spoken and written language skills of individuals with and without language disorders.
