This site is intended to help HU faculty members set up and successfully manage their HU Blackboard classes. (To find help for your students, click here.) Choose from the following options:
Here’s what Blackboard says about the new features of Blackboard 8: "This release improves the performance of the software, makes it easier to use, contains smart grading features, as well as tools to help learners develop critical thinking skills….Self assessment and peer review features will engage students better. Faculty members will be delighted by the new Blackboard Grade Center™—a completely redesigned Gradebook—and the integrated plagiarism deterrence software and social bookmarking tools." Click here or on the title above to access a video about the most distinctive features of Blackboard 8--the redesigned gradebook and the self-evaluation and peer review options for assignments.
Click the title above to watch animated tutorials that show and tell you how to use Blackboard's tools. We have organized the tutorials so that faculty who complete CETLA's hands-on workshops can easily find the right ones to review. However, if you can't attend a workshop, you may find that the tutorial is all you need.
Do you want to print out instructions so that you can consult them while you are working in your Blackboard course site? Then click the title above to print out the pages you need from the Blackboard 8 manual. However, if you wish to download or print out the entire manual, click here for a pdf document.
Find answers to some of the most frequently asked administrative questions, for instance, what to do if you can't log in, see your courses, or find a student.
Check here to see whether you need to adjust your computer's settings or to find "workarounds" for software problems.
Keep updated copies of your Blackboard site on your hard drive...just in case!
